Igrewupinahousewheretherewasfabricdrapedonthedinningroomtablewaitingformymothertosewitintoadress.Twodecadesago,whilestretchingaslabofclay,halfofittoreandflewacrosstheroom.WhenIwenttopickitupIsawhowtheclaylookedlikefabric.Thatmomentandmypersonalhistoryinfluencedtheceramicfolds.

WORK-Forms
Thesewallsculpturesarehandbuiltwithslabsofclay.Eachslabisdrapedandfoldedtothecontourofthepreviousone.Theyareclampedinaframetodry,thentheyareindividuallywetsanded,drysanded,firedanddrysandedagain.Thisprocessallowsforasmoothsurface,whichabsorbslightgently.Theyaremountedandreassembledonwood,likeapuzzle,andcontainedinasteelframe.
